~ ABOUT US ~
To start with
my biggest goals for this
breed are not only to better the breed by keeping lines that have the
ability to do what they are bred to do and breed the strongest quality
points in all my dogs, but to let everyone know what a wonderful breed
this is to have and to love.
I have been showing dogs for a lot more years then I have owned
GSPs, but fell the most in-love with this breed over any I have ever
owned or shown. I have had GSPs since early 2002 now and ended up with
my first on accident. I had been searching for a new puppy for several
months and not found anything I liked when I ran across a wonderful
lady walking a little GSP puppy around a dog show site. Jokingly I told
her if she didn’t want the extra luggage I would be more then happy to
take it off of her hands. She then told me of a litter she had there
and said I could look at them if I wanted to. My sister had GSPs when I
was growing up so I was a bit familiar with the breed all ready and
after some thinking went to look at the litter. I called my sister and
others to get everything I could about the pedigree and people I was
thinking of buying from. I also went over to get some handler friends
of mine who knew the breed to look at the litter and tell me if any of
them would be good show quality dogs. I had already picked out which
one I would want and everyone agreed with me on my pick. There he was,
pick male, my little Hunter, the start of me falling in-love with the
breed!
After showing Hunter in conformation for a while and living with
him, I knew I just had to have another GSP. I had met an absolutely
fabulous couple at one of the shows that owned and bred GSPs for over
30 yrs. Between them and my original breeders, (Heidabrandt) books and
asking several questions I learned a lot about the breed. I started
looking for my new baby and I was very lucky and ended up getting pick
puppy and decided to go with a beautiful little girl (Blaze). She has
been a wonderful addition to my family and the best show dog ever! I
have had so much fun with her and how smart she is and quick to please.
I finished her in AKC, CKC and UKC all on my own with no professional
handlers. I then put her CGC on her without ever going to a single
obedience class. With her flawless temperament and wonderful
conformation I decided to find a male with just as many great qualities
as her and breed them. Blaze is my foundation bitch, which means we’re
starting out with the best lines ever (Bleugras) and the best people to
teach me everything I need to know (Bob and Eve Parsons).
All of my GSPs live in my home with my children and I and are very much
our family members.
Along
the way, I met several other helpful and knowledgeable people and to
them I say thank-you all for everything you have taught me and continue
to teach me. I especially want to thank DR. Duane Stewart DVM for
everything he does.
